Weemoed (Dutch word for Melancholy and Longing) - depressive black metal and dark ambient/classical art from the depths of the Netherlands. Started as side-project by guitarist/composer Houtekiet and singer Mor De Naere of Walpurgisnacht, soon only Houtekiet continued, and made SonderlingHerr his name for Weemoed. He is main composer of three albums so far, although mixing in some tracks from other composers. Besides melancholy black metal, ambient and classical music are in Weemoed. The two albums as double-disc release are Insania Moralis and Traummord, chronologically album two and three. Traummord is mostly album one with more classical music mixed in and other extras such as completely new track. All in all it's a new listening experience, and very original, combining old classical works with black metal. Insania Moralis is rather straightforward, melancholy black metal, although the second half of the album is dark twisted, beautiful ambient.
Release includes vocals, screams, drums, guitars (distorted, clean), piano, synths, cello, violin, experimentation, extremity, and also elegance.
Both Insania Moralis and Traummord portray sorrows of life and death. Focus is on suffering, longing for better ways or even end of life. Insania Moralis is about the failure of the mind to cope with this darkness, death, decay. Traummord (German word for death of dream and/or dream of death) also explores this diversity of dark depressed, despaired feelings with losing grip on life and comprise the shadow self in human being.

Suici.De.Pression is a solo project of Syrinx and in-depth reflection on the universe of the psychosis and human nature. The debut full-length album is a journey across forsaken places that smell of death. Ghosts, screams, curses of madness that live inside ancient walls, around dark corners...in any breath. Monotony, endless circle, mood disorder are the themes of this world to which everyone belongs.
ZDAŃ (ghost - in english) - self-destructing depressive suicidal black metal from Belarus full of despair and suffering. The album ' Svietłaja pamiać, viečny spakoj (R.I.P. in english)' allows to look at different sides of the multifaceted coexistence of life and death and to feel the whole range of dark emotions associated with it. Raw gutar scrimmings and cold piano sounds framed by dark atmosphere brings into the world of painful feelings of author's soul harmed by disorder. Heartbreaking shrike of vocals make the listener to feel sorrow, grief and sadness. This music shows pain, mental suffering on the evils of human nature, immoral people's doings and cruelty of the world. Each song is like a story of premature death terminating a human life by murder, suicide or illness.
Choose your way... "After two years of a hard work, here's the third full length of Aversion To Mankind. Short but intense; three songs full of a mixture of feelings and emotions, all created with the unique atmosphere that the solo band comes up with through the album."
Coldnight started its story in summer 2008, but her music fits better in the cold winter nights. This how alpha female can see music and her visibility not just hearing the actual music but by her individual form. Undivide sense of equal in black spiritual path. Metal female that's very rare to find in some great shape, Blood and sacrifice. The creator of this solo project is Hypothermia, who describes her music as Depressive Suicidal Black Metal.
"In Search Of..., hailing from Johnstown, Pennsylvania, has released its fourth full-length album. Kevin Pribulsky spearheads this post-black metal solo project, gleaning inspiration from his own moments of introspection and depression. May this instrumental album lead you on a journey, to blissful heights and woeful depths, as you find yourself somewhere in this terrible and beautiful world."
"Nullingroots, a Post-Black Metal/Shoegaze band from the deserts of Phoenix Arizona, has finished its third full-length album. Inspired by the beautiful and ugly sides of human emotions; happiness, anxiety, and depression, Nullingroots delivers its most diverse material yet. This is achieved musically through instruments, and for the first time in the band's history, vocals. Bringing in more sounds and influences than before, Nullingroots has further implemented its musical direction and carves its own unique sound."
A five-piece emerging from the shores of the Baltic Sea, initially a one-man project, NRCSSST - a combination of melody driven shoegaze and the raw aggression of modern black metal are finally setting their first stone into the ground. A full album titled "Schizophrenic Art". 40 minutes of nostalgic dreams and stigmatizing, hate-filled vendetta against oneself.
THE GREAT OLD ONES’ first album ‘Al Azif’ was hailed as a success by the international press. After appearing in many of 2012’s lists of top albums as well as numerous shows and festivals (HellFest 2013, Roadburn 2014) the band is back in 2014 with an album out of the ordinary. Once again recorded by Cyrille Gachet (YEAR OF NO LIGHT) and mastered by Alan Douches (BARONESS, MOTORHEAD, SEPULTURA, SIGH, THE SECRET) Tekeli-li is a true eye opener. Maa is extremely proud to work with THE GREAT OLD ONES and to present this incredibly varied, intense, and personal second album. Tekili-li pays homage to H.P. Lovecraft; taking the listener on a breathtaking adventure through the Mountains of Madness. This is Japanese Edition.
Three years in the making and now, DISCIPLINE by WRATHAGE is finally coming out. A unique blend of Emperor-like epic melodies, twisted avantgarde guitar work and Finnish harshness. Here comes the second full length Aversion To Mankind, the Black Metal solo project of ex-Hopeless member, "Between Scylla And Charybdis" . A three songs album full of melancholy, anger and misanthropy! Black Metal at its best, with Psychedelic Rock and Post-Black Metal influences but with a personal touch as usual! Don't miss a minute from this masterpiece!!!
A concept album about a man having gone blind lost all he really cared for. Now living alone in his house full of long depressing hallways, the only way to relieve his mind is to paint his memories. But as he slowly expresses his inner most distress, the memories become all too real. Eventually the haunted past ends in a blazing tempest of light consuming all. This second album of Beyond Light written within an atmospheric / depressive black metal genre includes influences from both rock, progressive and doom genres. This album is a whole, rather than a collection of songs, dragging in the listener to experience the haunted past together.
Compilation Full-length!!! The first compilation after 6 years of existing from Russian atmospheric/post-black metal band Epitimia. It consists of fully re-recorded and re-arranged material, so it is not inferior to band's full-lengths in importance. All the material was rethought and is more closer to Epitimia's last works. So, it is powerful, post-rock-oriented atmospheric black metal with various types of vocals. Beautiful artwork was done by Denis Mati and Alex from Mayhem Project.
Georg Börner, the man behind ColdWorld, displayed a good deal of confidence in the emotive power of his full length debut when he decided to title it Melancholie² has last work. While on the surface, the album displays lots of sorrow, angst and moodiness, it all feels contrived and unconvincing. Melancholie² feels like having a funeral when no one has died or run away train to kill your self to live. Categorically, ColdWorld is best described as depressive post-black metal. The music displays a decent amount of Norwegian influence (especially Burzum), but there are a number of dissonant, dreary passages that recall Xasthur. From post-rock, there are many of moments of icy dreaminess that hint at Sigur Ros and clean guitar leads similar to those of Explosions in the Sky. A number of soundtrack style ambient passages round out ColdWorld’s sound. However great news is that ColdWorld ready for new EP and its going to kill your dead mind. The depressive flavor seems like an obvious variation, but for some reason, ColdWorld is one of the few bands that can actually make it sound great. This is Japanese Edition.
This is a conceptual album based in all the horror, pain and grief which involves all love stories. Inspired in all the things that people prefers not to think about or remember but everyone is destined to suffer it day after day in many different ways: daily tragedies, inner hells, situations which drive the people crazy, avoid the traditional love concept in songs, which is naive and unreal. No love story has a happy ending. This is a deep view really close to everyone personal experiences with the intention of moving or disturb in an emotional way to the listener. This is the third As Light Dies’ album from Spain. Mixed by Dan Swäno and artwork done by Romain Barbot. Huge atmosphere, dark compositions, killer guitar work, an myriad of different feelings. An unique sonic journey experience.
Debut Worthless Lament's album gives you a chance to visit the darkest corners of the human mind, to feel what life is worthless and make a journey full of violence, murders and human life wastes. Ugly ravenous vocals as though burst from the worst nightmare in your reality accompanied by depressive hopeless riffs that turns to a hysteria and slow solos tearing the flesh like a razors.
A blend of post-black metal and shoegaze comes from Lithuania in the form of Devlsy. The characteristic low tuned guitars, distorted and singing bass with a black-metalish vocal on top is the recipe you will find in their debut album "A Parade of States". As the name of the album suggests, Devlsy brings you a kaleidoscope of experiences and visions, a glimpse into the internal uneasiness and distorted mind.
